TEAMBUILDING

Organisation: Management Training Services

Category: Team Building

Description: This workshop is composed of three key elements: personality dynamics, team building, and problem-solving strategies. These components provide a practical backdrop for facilitating effective team interactions.
Understanding the characteristics and needs of different personalities leads to more effective communication. Making these personal differences objective facilitates the process of problem solving for powerful results.
OBJECTIVES:
* To encourage active participation in decision-making processes.
* To encourage greater involvement with others for improved job satisfaction, morale, and business results.
* To take responsibility for individual and group work situations.
* To encourage support of others in the team building process.
I. TEAM BUILDING
How mature is our team?
This part of the workshop increases self-awareness and confirms self-perceptions around team member behaviours. Participants learn how to analyze their contributions to the team and how to view those contributions against a team maturity model.
II. PERSONALITY DYNAMCIS
Identifying our strengths
This part of the program introduces the idea of personality preferences. A series of activities is designed to build on our understanding of each member on the team by asking the question, "Who am I?"
Identifying the strengths of others
Understanding how our personality influences our contributions on a team allows for better use of team member strengths. Members learn how to capitalize on their strengths as well as the strengths of others by posing the question, "Who are you?"
III. PROBLEM SOLVING STRATEGIES
Strategies for building an effective team are identified through a team problem-solving process. This process clarifies and builds on understanding one’s own functioning and that of others. This awareness applies to the dynamics of team relationships and addresses the question, "How do we work together?" This interactive problem solving process provides a dynamic strategic approach to problem solving. In this part of the workshop, we take the challenges inherent in team building which were uncovered in Parts I and II and build a strategic approach for increasing team maturity and productivity.
The problem solving process unfolds as follows:
*Identification of the problem
*Identification of the outcome
*Identification of the barriers
*Identification of the solutions
*Identification of the resources
