Description: The Institute of Leadership and Management Accredited Level 3 Certificate in Coaching for Team Leaders and First Line Managers will be available at the end of May 2007. The aim is to develop team leaders and first line managers to provide workplace coaching to members of their teams or others whom they manage.
The programme has two primary objectives:-
To provide candidates with an understanding of coaching and its role in improving team members performance
To develop candidates skills to perform effectively as workplace coaches
What is Coaching
The Concise Oxford Dictionary defines the verb to coach as to 'tutor, train, give hints to, prime with facts.' Coaching is unlocking a person's potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them. If you can recognise potential in an individual, nurture that individual in order to realise that potential the results in terms of improved performance will be significant.
